The Recycle Bar BY 1800 TEQUILA
With the growing interest in low and zero waste dining, there was an opportunity for 1800 Tequila to engage key audiences and drive product trial while delivering a strong message with a real and timely call-to-action. The Recycled Bar by 1800 Tequila – The Bar Saved From Landfill – popped up on the Tarpeian Lawn in Sydney’s Botanic Gardens in early December, serving as a stark reminder to all ahead of the pending festive season. Sydney-based installation artist James Dive created an experience that provided conversation and elevated the issue. The bar was designed to look as if it was pouring from a 3-tonne truck, a demonstration of the key campaign stat: over 18,000 of these trucks deliver waste to landfill each day in Australia The structure and bar exhibited products made by over 22 Australian brands, artists and designers who are finding innovative ways to keep rubbish out of the ground. The intimate experience of 1800 Tequila-created, low-waste cocktails and zero-waste canapes, showed the creative potential of our waste. The campaign was launched with an exclusive first-run national broadcast feature with 7News. 94% of coverage secured included 2 key messages and 88% of coverage contained 3 key messages, as well as 83% of coverage including hero assets. All proceeds were donated to Clean Up Australia, the campaign charity partner.
